WARM AND MORE HUMID TODAY UNDER A MIX OF CLOUDS AND SUN….
Today has featured a mix of clouds and sun with the clouds becoming
more dominant as we approached the early afternoon hours. The air
mass has become considerably more humid today, but with a good
breeze developing, it doesn’t feel overly bad out there this
afternoon.
Temperatures started the day a bit warmer than the past couple of
days. Readings this morning bottomed out in the low 60s. They
recovered rather quickly with the partial sunshine this morning,
reaching the low 80s by early this afternoon. With skies becoming
more on the cloudy side approaching the 1pm observation, the
temperature has leveled off for the time being. As mentioned, it
is more humid today than the past couple of days with the dew point
returning to the mid to upper 60s.
Winds started the day on the lighter side, but increased quite a
bit by the mid morning hours. A southerly flow has been averaging
at around 10mph for the day so far. Gusts have been frequently
exceeding 20mph for the past few hours now with a peak gust so far
of 28mph, which occurred right at noon-time.
Visibility is not as great as it was yesterday when we had a view
of 70 miles all day. Today it’s been generally between 30-40 miles
due to thin fog early this morning, and then general haziness
thereafter.
The maximum temperature so far today is 82F, which is 3 degrees
above the normal high of 79F. The minimum temperature since
midnight is 62F, which is 1 degree above the normal low of 61F.
