ANOTHER VERY FINE SPRING DAY HERE AT BLUE HILL….

Other than a period of mid level clouds that pushed through
during the morning hours, today has featured plenty of
sunshine, pleasant temperatures, and dry comfortable air.
We have definitely lucked out this week weather-wise,
especially considering how nasty April can be here near the
coast.

Temperatures have once again warmed into the low 70s early
this afternoon, which is 10 or more degrees above normal levels
for this time of year. Dew point values have been gradually
rising from the mid 30s to the low 40s through the course of
the day so far, indicating a more moist (humid) air mass
approaching the region.

The wind started off on the brisk side, mainly during the first
few hours of the day (wee hours) when it was gusty out of
the east and east-northeast. Since about 6am, it has been much
lighter, while also gradually veering toward the south and south-
southwest. The average speed for the day so far is around 9mph,
however it’s been closer to 5-6mph for the past few hours. The
peak gust occurred just before 2am with a value of 29mph.

Visibility has been excellent all day, starting at around 70
this morning, but dropping to around 60 miles by early this
afternoon.

The maximum temperature for today is 72F degrees, which is 12
degrees above the normal high of 60F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 45F degrees, which is 4 degrees above the
normal low of 41F.
