HOT AND MORE HUMID TODAY WITH INCREASING CLOUDS AHEAD OF A
COLD FRONT….
We started the day with plenty of sunshine through some high
thin cirrus clouds. However mid level clouds moved in by early
this afternoon, overtaking the sky and blocking the sun. As a
matter of fact the highest temperature for the day occurred
prior to noon-time. Despite the lack of sun this afternoon, it
has remained warm and moderately humid. Either way, it’s been
another dry day on a weekend, so it’s been a good day to get
out and about.
Temperatures only lowered to the mid 60s overnight, and then
quickly rose this morning with the strong sunshine. Readings
reached the upper 80s by late this morning, before dropping
back a bit to the low to mid 80s for the balance of the
afternoon. Dew point values rose from the upper 50s early this
morning to the low 60s by mid to late morning, where it has
remained for the remainder of the day.
Winds started off the day on the light side, but started
ramping up by the mid morning hours. It has been gusty since
late morning. A westerly wind early this morning has backed to
more of a southerly flow by this afternoon. The average speed
for the day so far is around 11mph. The peak gust for the day
so far is 30mph, which occurred right around 12:30pm and again
around 2:30pm this afternoon.
Visibility has been fairly decent with a view of around 60
miles through the morning. It did dip to around 50 miles
early this afternoon, but has since improved again by mid
afternoon.
The maximum temperature so far today is 88F degrees, which is
13 degrees above the normal high of 75F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 65F degrees, which is 8 degrees above the
normal low of 57F.
