CONTINUED BRISK AND COLD WITH MORE CLOUDS THAN SUN TODAY….

Clouds have pretty much dominated the sky today with some breaks
of sunshine from time to time. These clouds are largely associated
with Lake Effect snow bands coming off Lake Ontario, crossing
New York State, and then through central and southern New England.
The strong west-northwest flow of the past few days is helping to
carry the streamers of clouds, and at times even some flurries, all
the way to coastal Southern New England!

With the cloud cover and continued cold air advection, temperatures
have slowly made it to the low 30s early this afternoon from a
morning low in the low to mid 20s. Dew point readings have been
dropping from the mid to upper teens this morning to the low teens
early this afternoon, indicative of a polar air mass in place.

Winds continue to be gusty today (now the 4th day in a row) with
speeds averaging at around 15mph for the day so far. Gusts have been
reaching over 30mph since about the mid morning hours, with a peak
gust so far of 41mph occurring at 10:46am this morning.

Visibility has been decent, with views extending 50-70 miles through
the day.

The maximum temperature for today is 32F degrees, which is 4 degrees
below the normal high of 36F. The minimum temperature since midnight
is 23F degrees, which is 3 degrees above the normal low of 20F.
