STILL HOT AND HUMID, BUT JUST SHY OF 90F TODAY ON BLUE HILL….
The hot and humid weather continues today, although we didn’t
quite make it to 90F, so the heat-wave has officially ended.
Skies have featured a lot of sunshine today with some cirrus
clouds around this morning, and diurnal cumulus clouds late this
morning through this afternoon.
Temperatures started off under barely 70F for a change, but quickly
rose well into the 80s before noon-time. The dew point has remained
in the low 70s through the day so far, so the muggy feel to the air
is just adding to the heat of the day.
Winds were light through the morning, but have picked up some this
afternoon as some mixing from aloft takes place. A general westerly
flow has been averaging at around 11mph for the day so far. Gusts
this afternoon have been exceeding 20mph, which a peak gust so far
of 25mph occurring just after 1pm.
Visibility has held steady at around 30 miles with no real
variability throughout the day due to haziness.
The maximum temperature so far today is 88F, which is 7 degrees
above the normal high of 81F. The minimum temperature since midnight
is 69F, which is 5 degrees above the normal low of 64F.
