MORNING FOG AND DRIZZLE LIFTED, BUT STILL A CLOUDY DAY….

Dense fog and drizzle were the theme all morning with the
visibility only around 1/8th of a mile. The fog finally
lifted around noon-time, however very light drizzle
persisted into the early afternoon hours before ending.

Despite the increase in visibility, skies have remained
cloudy and marks the second day in a row with no sun, at
least through mid afternoon. We’ll see if we can manage a
peek or two late this afternoon.

The same old story of measurable rainfall continues with
0.09″ having been deposited in the gauge through 7 A.M.,
between some showers yesterday and drizzle overnight. An
additional 0.06″ was measured between 7 A.M. and 10 A.M.
this morning! The monthly total now stands at 10.52″, which
is currently in 3rd place for wettest July, and is only
1.15″ from tying the wettest July on record!

The high so far today is 68F, 14 degrees below the daily
normal maximum of 82F. The low so far today is 63F, which is
1 degree below the daily normal minimum.

On a side note, the renovations have now begun in earnest.
We are no longer operating out of the tower and have moved to
another part of the building. All wind instruments on the main
tower have been taken offline and will remain so until further
notice. Please be patient with us as we navigate through our
new routine. Data at times may be delayed.
