MILTON, MASSACHUSETTS
ELEVATION 635 FEET, 10 MILES SSW OF BOSTON, MA
MONDAY, DECEMBER 9, 2024
ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME (EST)
SUNRISE: 0702E
SUNSET: 1612E
CLOUDS RAPIDLY INCREASING TODAY, BUT STILL MILD WITH LIGHT WIND….
Clouds rapidly advanced into the area early this morning with
the balance of the day averaging mostly cloudy. Clouds have been thin
enough for several hours to allow for some filtered sunshine into
early this afternoon.
Temperatures have responded nicely to the limited sun today with
values rising from the mid 30s early this morning to the mid 40s by
late this morning and early this afternoon. With an overall lack of
wind, it feels quite nice out there, especially considering how cold
it was last week.
Winds were gusty in the wee hours of this morning, but then diminished
rapidly prior to sunrise, even going calm at times early this morning.
The average speed for the day so far is around 7mph, but it’s been
generally 5mph or less for the past several hours. The peak gust so
far for the day is 21mph occurring at 1:02am this morning.
Visibility has been somewhat limited today to around 50 miles due to
haziness from trapped low level pollution under an inversion.
The maximum temperature for today is 47F degrees, which is 5 degrees
above the normal high of 42F. The minimum temperature since midnight
is 34F degrees, which is 7 degrees above the normal low of 27F.
