MORNING SHOWERS FOGGY CONDITIONS AND GUSTY SOUTHERLY WINDS
TO END THE WORK WEEK….
This morning featured a beautiful sunrise, with colors of pink and
purple hues, before returning behind the clouds no more than about
15 minutes later. The sun has been hidden under a thick band of
clouds and fog throughout the day, and there was a bit of rain
during the morning hours, netting a generous 0.25″ of rain so far.
Rapidly decreasing pressure and forecasts suggest more rain is on
for later, so we will see tomorrow what those final precipitation
totals will be. But most of today has been dreary though on the
mild side.
Temperatures were near 50F this morning and increased to around
64F. Dew points have remained near the air temperature due to the
precipitation and foggy conditions.
Winds have been quite active today, with a dominate southerly
flow that has shifted to the south-southwest since the mid-
morning hours. The average speed for the day so far is around
an impressive 16mph with frequent gusts in the 25 mph range. The
peak gust for the day so far is 33mph, which occurred just
after 12:30pm this afternoon.
Visibility was the highest first thing this morning, with around
10 miles. Since then, we have been in the clouds with minimal
visibility.
The maximum temperature so far today is 64F, which is 3 degrees
above the normal high of 61F. The minimum temperature since
midnight is 48F, which is 4 degrees above the normal low of 44F.
