SUNNY, COOLER, AND DRY CONDITIONS ON BLUE HILL TODAY….

Yesterday’s all day soaker netted us 0.69 inches of rain, bringing us to
-0.33 inches for the month and -0.69 inches for the year. While we still
remain in a deficit, this is much better than last month where we were in
the red by 4.55 inches.

Temperatures started off in the low to mid 30’s and improved to the mid
40’s by noon time. Despite a dry day with a fair amount of sunshine, we
have stayed just below the normal high for the day. The passing front
and gusty winds could have had some influence over our lower temperatures.

We have had mostly a West and WSW flow today, and while winds were
slightly lower in the mid morning, we have picked up quite a bit over
the past couple of hours. The average speed for the day so far is around
13mph and our peak gust so far today has been 36mph, which occurred during
the overnight around 1:30am.

The visibility held steady around 50 miles with a slight improvement to
60 miles by the 1pm observation. Low dew points resulted in a nice, crisp
blue color to the sky for much of the day, even with the increasing clouds.

The maximum temperature for today is 44F degrees, which is 1 degree
below the normal high of 45F. The minimum temperature since midnight
is 32F degrees, which is 2 degrees above the normal low of 30F.
