HOT AND HUMID WEATHER CONTINUES AS THE SUMMER-LIKE PATTERN PERSISTS….
The feel of summer continues today under partial sunshine.
Mainly mid level clouds have been covering the area most of the
day with low convective clouds joining the party by late this
morning into this afternoon.
Temperatures started the day in the mid 70s, which if it holds
will establish a new record high minimum for the date. The
current record is 69F set back in 1942 and 2017. Readings rose
quickly through the morning reaching the low 80s by mid morning,
and touching 90F by early this afternoon. To go along with the
hot temperatures, humidity levels are quite high. Dew point
values have been rising through the day from around 70F early
this morning into the mid 70s by early this afternoon. This is
bordering on oppressive levels at this point.
To make matters worse, there isn’t much in the way of wind today.
A generally southwest to west wind has only been averaging at
around 6mph for the day so far. The peak gust for the day so far
is only 14mph, which occurred just before 4am this morning.
Visibility has been limited all day due to haziness. The view
has only been between 30-40 miles all day.
The maximum temperature so far today is 90F degrees, which is
16 degrees above the normal high of 74F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 74F degrees, which is 17 degrees above the
normal low of 57F.
