JULY CLOSES WITH SUNSHINE AND A SUMMER-LIKE FEEL….
Yesterday’s daily rainfall was 1.07″ inches, which gives us a
monthly total of 5.24″ inches. That total is more than what we
received in total rainfall for all of May and June this year.
The overnight temperature was identical to the day before, but
with dry conditions and sunshine today, we were able to rebound
well into the upper 70’s by the early afternoon. With dew point
values in the mid to upper 60’s, it has felt like a typical
summer day. Even though temperatures are slightly below normal for
this time of year, it feels much warmer, mostly because of the
muggy conditions and the low winds.
Winds have been light and variable today, with a few times going
calm. Even though winds have been variable, the flow has generally
been out of the north and then going more east by early afternoon.
The average speed for the day so far is only around 6mph. The peak
gust so far for the day is a whopping 12mph, which occurred after
11am this morning.
Visibility started off around 35 miles this morning before slightly
improving to around 40 miles for the remainder of the day.
The maximum temperature so far today is 77F, which is 5 degrees
below the normal high of 82F. The minimum temperature since
midnight is 61F, which is 3 degrees below the normal low of 64F.
