LINGERING DRIZZLE AND FOGGY CONDITIONS PERSIST WITH A RETURN
TO SEASONABLE TEMPERATURES….
A line of showers came through the area during the early morning
hours and while we had some periods of dry conditions, drizzle was
observed on the summit for much of the day. With temperatures
cooling as the day progressed, the air has gone from sticky to
damp and raw. With temperatures returning to seasonable after the
stretch of mild temperatures during the past few days, today has
felt especially colder.
Temperatures were mild overnight, only dipping into the mid 50s.
The temperatures slightly rose to 60F before the wind shifted
to the northeast in the 11am hour and cooled to the lower 50s by
this afternoon.
Winds were steady out of the north during the overnight before
decreasing and shifting to offshore flow by the midmorning. The
average speed for the day so far is around 7mph. The peak gust
for the day so far is 32mph, which occurred at midnight today.
Sky visibility was the clearest this morning when a line of rain
had moved out of the area. With lingering drizzle, we have remained
in the clouds throughout the day. Visibility was around 50 miles
this morning and had decreased to less than 1/16th of a mile in
some sectors by this afternoon.
The maximum temperature so far today is 62F degrees, which is
5 degrees above the normal high of 57F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 52F degrees, which is 13 degrees above the
normal low of 39F.
