ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME (EST)

BELOW AVERAGE TEMPERATURES CONTINUE ALONG WITH RAINY CONDITIONS…
Conditions were rainy today with overcast skies on top of
Great Blue Hill. Rainfall varied in intensity from drizzle
to steady rain throughout the observation period.
So far we have measured a total of 0.60 inches. The rain has
continued so there will be more precipitation to add to the
total tomorrow morning. By 1:00 P.M. today we have already
measured 0.49 inches above the normal daily precipitation
total of 0.11 inches. Today’s rain was much needed due to
our current drought conditions. As of this morning we stand
9.02 inches below the normal rainfall for this time of year.
Blowing fog caused visibility to be variable today with
sector visibility at each observation. We had a max
visibility of 10 miles during the 10:00 A.M. observation when
the precipitation had reduced from light rain to drizzle.
By 1:00 p.m. rainfall intensity increased to a steady rain.
Overnight saw a wind shift from the SE to the NE. We saw
an increase in wind speed today. So far we saw an estimated
peak gust of 35 MPH, with frequent gusts over 23 MPH (20 KTS).
With rainy conditions and wind for the North, temperatures
remained below average again today. The maximum temperature
so far today is 65F, which is 16 degrees below the normal
high of 81F. The minimum temperature since midnight is 61F,
which is 2 degrees below the normal low.
