COOLER TEMPERATURES AND OVERCAST SKIES THE THEME FOR THE DAY….
Skies have remained overcast throughout the day, and as of this
discussion we are still dry. Rain is just to our south, and as it
nears, the lower clouds have increased. Overall, it’s been a quiet
day, with cooler temperatures but with higher dew points.
Temperatures dipped down to 63F early this morning. After that,
temperatures were slow to rise and as of the final observation
we made it to 71F. Despite the cooler temperatures, dew points
remain similar to yesterday’s values. So while we are technically
cooler, the muggy conditions still remain.
The wind has remained light into the overnight hours out of the
south. Since around day break, the wind has been out of the south-
southeast for the majority of the day. The average speed for the
day so far is only around 8mph. The peak gust so far for the day
is 22mph, which occurred at 2:50am this morning.
Visibility started off with a limited view of around 35 miles
for the majority of the day and improved to around 40 miles by
the early afternoon.
The maximum temperature so far today is 74F, which is 7 degrees
below the normal high of 81F. The minimum temperature since
midnight is 63F, which is equal to the normal low.
