EARLY FOG BURNS OFF TO A MIX OF SUN AND CLOUDS; SEASONABLE
TEMPERATURES CONTINUE TODAY….
We started the day with dense fog and a visibility that was down
as low as 1/16th of a mile for a time. The low clouds and fog
quickly burned off by mid morning leaving us with a mix of sun
and clouds for the balance of the day so far. With the warm
temperatures, higher humidity levels, and some instability in
the atmosphere, a few showers are starting to pop up as well.
One such showers was passing by to the south of the Hill during
the 1pm observation period.
Temperatures today are once again at seasonal levels with
readings reaching the upper 70s by early this afternoon. It is
a bit more humid today with the dew point rising to the mid to
upper 60s.
The wind has again been quite light most of the day, even going
calm for a few hours this morning. It is trying to pick up a
bit now that it has shifted into a seabreeze. Overall the
direct had been variable prior to the seabreeze taking over.
The average speed for the day so far is only around 4mph. The
peak gust for the day so far is only 14mph which occurred just
before 11:30am this morning.
Visibility has been limited today due to fog this morning, and
then haziness thereafter. The view was generally 1/16th to 1/8th
of a mile early this morning in fog. It improved to around 30-35
miles by early this afternoon.
The maximum temperature so far today is 78F, which is 1 degree
below the normal high of 79F. The minimum temperature since
midnight is 61F, which is 1 degree below the normal low of 62F.
