A MIX OF SUN AND CLOUDS TODAY WITH NEAR SEASONABLE TEMPERATURES….
All in all, today has been a decent weather day. Plenty of sunshine
has been observed intermingled with various types of mainly
scattered clouds. A fog bank which was seen well offshore early
this morning was hugging the coastline by the 10am observation.
This fog bank has hung around the shore-line since.
Temperatures today have been near seasonal levels with readings
reaching the upper 70s by early this afternoon. While not as humid
as yesterday, the dew point is still hanging around in the low to
mid 60s. As such, there is still a bit of a humid feel to the air.
The wind has been on the light side most of the day. A westerly
wind during the early wee hours of the morning gradually veered
to the north and then easterly by late this morning. The average
speed for the day so far is only around 8mph. The peak gust for
the day so far is 17mph, which occurred just before 11am this
morning.
Visibility has been either decent or limited, depending on which
direction you look. Overall the view has been around 50 miles
today, however, it’s been generally around 10 miles in the
direction of the fog bank, except reaching 20 miles early this
afternoon to the east and east-southeast.
The maximum temperature so far today is 78F, which is 1 degree
below the normal high of 79F. The minimum temperature since
midnight is 63°F, which is 2 degrees above the normal low of 61F.
