ABUNDANT SUNSHINE TODAY WITH WARM TEMPERATURES AND A GENTLE WIND….
A weak area of high pressure is building over the region today
giving us fair weather and warmer conditions. Also due to the
high being overhead, there isn’t much wind due to a lack of any
pressure gradient. All in all it’s a very nice day out there,
especially for those lucky enough to be on vacation this week!
Temperatures have warmed into the low 80s by early this afternoon,
which is more than 10 degrees above normal for this time of year.
Dew point values have been holding mainly in the mid 50s through
the day, so it does feel a touch humid, but it’s still on the
comfortable side.
Winds have been light for the most part today. The direction
was variable most of the morning thanks to high pressure being
right overhead, but it has settled out of the west to west-
southwest early this afternoon. The average speed for the day
so far is around 8mph. The peak gust for the day so far is 18mph,
which occurred around 6:16am this morning.
Visibility has been fairly excellent today with a view of 70 miles
early this morning. It has slipped a bit however as the day has
progressed thanks to the increasing pollen. The view early this
afternoon is around 60 miles.
The maximum temperature so far today is 81F degrees, which is 12
degrees above the normal high of 69F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 56F degrees, which is 5 degrees above the normal
low of 51F.
