EARLY MORNING CLOUDS AND FOG BURN OFF TO REVEAL A VERY PLEASANT
MOTHER’S DAY….
A warm front moved through last evening bringing periods of
showers to the area, some of which were moderate to briefly heavy.
Despite the duration, only a total of 0.35″ of rain was measured.
Clouds and fog lingered into early this morning, but burned off
pretty quickly to a mix of sun and clouds. With a warm air mass
in place along with a nice breeze, it’s a perfect day for outdoor
activities.
Temperatures have warmed nicely today with readings reaching the
upper 60s to near 70F by early this afternoon. The dew point has
been holding in the mid 50s, so it does feel a tad humid out there,
but it’s still quite tolerable for this time of year.
Winds have for the most part been steady except for a period
during the mid morning hours when it was light. A general south-
west to south-southwest flow has been averaging at around 10mph
for the day so far. The peak gust so far for the day is 28mph,
which occurred around 12:30pm.
Visibility was quite limited early this morning to around 8-12
miles due to the fog, but improved rather quickly to only around
30-35 miles due to haziness and pollen.
The maximum temperature so far today is 70F degrees, which is
5 degrees above the normal high of 65F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 49F degrees, which is 2 degrees above the
normal low of 47F.
