DREARY AND WET THROUGH THE MORNING WITH CHILLY TEMPERATURES….
A frontal system has been pushing through the region today bringing
some much needed rain showers to the area, albeit not nearly enough.
Clouds and fog have also accompanied the rain keeping things quite
dreary and dank. 0.09″ of rain was measured by 7am this morning with
an additional 0.12″ falling between 7am and 1pm. Despite this bit
of water, we will finish the month of April significantly below
normal in the precipitation department.
Temperatures remain below normal with readings struggling through
the 40s this morning and reaching the low 50s early this afternoon.
Dew points have been close to the temperature as one would expect
with the saturated to near saturated air mass in place today.
Winds have been very light today, and at times calm. The average
speed for the day so far is only around 4mph. The peak gust so far
is a measly 13mph, which occurred just after 5:30am this morning.
Visibility has been limited most of the day due to the rain and
fog. The view has been as high as 25 miles for a time in between
periods of rain, and as low as 1/8th of a mile when the cloud deck
lowers over the summit
The maximum temperature so far today is 51F degrees, which is 12
degrees below the normal high of 63F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 43F degrees, which is equal to the normal low
of 43F.
