A SUMMER-LIKE FEEL TODAY WITH WARM TEMPERATURES AND HIGHER HUMIDITY….
Skies have been mainly sunny today with a decent amount of high
thin cirrus clouds, and only a few low and mid level clouds.
Although the overall trend has been for increasing clouds as more
move in from the west. Nonetheless, with the warm temperatures,
it’s definitely a great day for outdoor activities if one is lucky
enough to have the day off.
Temperatures were “warm” overnight with the low only dropping to
58F. This was close to tying the record high minimum for the date,
but missed it by 1 degree. With the high launch pad this morning,
readings quickly ramped up reaching the mid 70s by the 10am
observation. We have now reached the low to mid 80s by early this
afternoon. Adding to the summer-like feel is a bit of humidity.
Dew points have been holding in the mid 50s all day.
Winds are much lighter today than yesterday. A general westerly
flow has been averaging at around 11mph for the day so far. The
peak gust for the day occurred back in the wee hours of the
morning with a speed of 23mph.
Visibility has been somewhat limited throughout the day due to
haziness. The view has generally been around 40-50 miles all day.
The maximum temperature so far today is 83F degrees, which is
27 degrees above the normal high of 56F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 58F degrees, which is 21 degrees above the
normal low of 37F.
