ANOTHER ARCTIC AIR MASS IN PLACE, BUT A THAW IS ON THE WAY….
An arctic front passed through overnight bringing with it a few
light snow showers. This has lead to another very cold day today,
which seems to be the theme on Mondays for the past month.
Today featured sunshine early this morning, but clouds have been
increasing through the day as our next system approaches the
region.
Temperatures are once again well below normal with the low this
morning down in the low teens, and the high this afternoon has
only recovered to the mid 20s. Dew point values have been holding
in the single digits today.
As an act of mercy by Mother Nature, the wind has been very light
today. The average speed for the day so far is only around 8mph.
The peak gust for the day occurred just after midnight with a
value of 22mph.
Visibility has been limited all day, with a view of only 25-30
miles.
The maximum temperature so far today is 25F degrees, which is
11 degrees below the normal high of 36F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 11F degrees, which is 9 degrees below the
normal low of 20F.
