CLOUDS INCREASE WITH BELOW NORMAL TEMPERATURES CONTINUING….
Despite the arctic air mass having moved out of the region
yesterday, below normal temperatures still remain across the
region. We started the day with some sunshine, but clouds have
since overspread the area leaving us with overcast skies this
afternoon. With the lack of sun, the air is quite chilly,
reminding us that we are indeed in winter!
Temperatures today are very similar to the values of yesterday.
Morning readings in the upper 20s have recovered to the mid to
upper 30s by early this afternoon. Dew point readings have been
holding in the mid 20s today, indicating dry polar air which is
adding to the chilly feel.
Winds have generally been on the light side today, which is a
welcomed change especially with the cold temperatures in place.
The average speed for the day so far is around 7mph. The peak
gust so far for the day is 17mph, which occurred around 1:30am
this morning.
Visibility has been consistent at around 30-40 miles throughout
the day.
The maximum temperature so far today is 39F degrees, which is
4 degrees below the normal high of 43F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 27F degrees, which is equal to the normal low
of 27F.
