COOL, CLEAR START GIVES WAY TO INCREASING PM CLOUDS ….
Today started with plenty of sunshine and below freezing
temperatures. Winds have been lighter, which has been ideal
given the cooler than normal temperatures. By the early
afternoon, there was an increase in cirrus clouds, however,
sunshine has still been pretty prominent overall.
Temperatures dipped into the upper 20’s early this morning before
recovering into the mid 40’s. This is still below normal for
this time of year. Dew points have stayed in the upper 20’s as
well throughout the day, making for a great visibility day with
plenty of cold, dry air.
The wind has been on the lighter side today, with a general
northwest flow that has turned more west in the afternoon. Winds
have averaged just under 9mph. The peak gust for the day so far
is 22mph, which occurred at 9:19am this morning.
Visibility has continued to improve as the day progressed. We
started with about 50 miles and finished at around 70 miles
of views.
The maximum temperature so far today is 44F degrees, which is
6 degrees below the normal high of 50F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 28F degrees, which is 6 degrees below the
normal low of 34F.
