COOLER TEMPERATURES AND GUSTY NW FLOW UNDER INCREASING
CLOUDS TODAY….
The morning skies featured mostly clear conditions with a
few clouds offshore and some altocumulus. As the day continued,
cloud cover increased, though the sunshine was still out for
most of the day.
Temperatures dipped to the freezing mark of 32F early this
morning until just after sunrise. Since then, we have had a
gradual rise in temperatures, though the breezy northwest winds
have kept temperatures from reaching the expected normal for this
time of year. Dew points have been below 30F throughout the
day, giving more of a chill to the air.
The wind has continued to come from the northwest for much of
the day, with some gusts coming from the north-northwest at
times. Winds have averaged around 11mph, with a slight increase
this afternoon. The peak gust for the day so far is 30mph, which
occurred at 9:49am this morning.
Visibility was between 60-70 miles throughout the day.
The maximum temperature so far today is 46F degrees, which is
5 degrees below the normal high of 51F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 32F degrees, which is 2 degrees below the
normal low of 34F.
