MORNING RAIN GIVES WAY TO PARTLY CLOUDY SKIES AND MILDER
TEMPS BY EARLY AFTERNOON….

Rain moved through the area late last night until the early
morning hours netting us 0.22 inches of total precipitation.
This brings our total to 0.43 inches, which is -0.60 inches
for the month.

The passing of the front brought warmer temperatures through
the night, leaving our overnight low significantly warmer
than what is typical for this time of year. Our low so far
for the day occurred during the mid morning hours as the rain
was tapering. Since then, we have warmed considerably with
plenty of sunshine. Dew points have been higher than the
past couple of days, ranging from the low 50’s to mid 40’s.

Winds were strong overnight with a south-southwesterly flow
which has since shifted to a more westerly direction by the
early afternoon. Winds were averaging over 20mph last night
but since the wind shift it has been averaging closer to
around 10mph. The daily average so far is holding around 12mph.
The peak gust so far for the day is around 33mph, which occurred
just after our final daily observation at 1:15pm.

Visibility was heavily impacted by the passing frontal system
this morning, leaving us with only around 20 miles of visibility.
By the afternoon we had improved to about 40 miles of viewing
pleasure.

The maximum temperature so far today is 60F degrees, which is
7 degrees below the normal high of 53F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 51F degrees, which is 15 degrees above the
normal low of 36F.
