CLOUDY AND RAW WITH LIGHT DRIZZLE AND A BRISK WIND….
Low clouds have dominated the sky today with the continued
onshore flow bringing moisture into the area. As a result of
all this moisture being advected in, intermittent very light
ocean effect drizzle began falling last evening and continued
through this morning. By early this afternoon the drizzle
started coming down a bit more earnestly, with 0.02″ of
water accumulating in the gauge by 1pm.
Temperatures have remained on the chilly side today thanks to
the clouds and ocean flow. Readings have been stuck in the mid
40s all day. As one would imagine, the dew point is very close
to the air temperature, indicating the high level of moisture
in the atmosphere.
A northeasterly wind has been averaring at around 11mph for the
day so far. The peak gust for the day so far is 32mph, which
occurred right around 2:45am this morning.
Visibility was somewhat decent despite the areas of drizzle
during the morning, with a view of around 40-60 miles, but it
has gradually reduced, to around 35-40 miles late this morning,
then to around a 1/4 mile by the 1pm observation.
The maximum temperature so far today is 47F degrees, which is
9 degrees below the normal high of 56F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 44F degrees, which is 5 degrees above the
normal low of 39F.
