COOL, DRY AIR WITH PARTLY CLOUDY CONDITIONS TODAY….
This morning featured a beautiful sunrise under partly cloudy
skies. With cool, dry air, we have that crisp, deep blue sky
that has given us a brilliant sky, comfortable conditions, and
excellent visibility. With the exception of an offshore
thunderstorm to our distant ENE during the mid morning hours,
we have had little excitement otherwise. It has been the perfect
day for any outdoor activities.
Overnight temperatures dipped to 37F which is just slightly below
normal for this time of year, but we made a decent rebound with
all day sunshine. Though we haven’t hit the normal high for today,
it has still felt pretty comfortable all day, except maybe a bit
of a chill with the northwesterly breeze. Dew points have remained
in the upper to mid 30’s today and have continued to decrease
throughout the day, giving way to the high pressure building to
our north.
We have had a somewhat steady northwesterly flow for much of the
day which is not much different than yesterday. The wind has been
a little on the lighter side, with an average speed for the day
so far around 9mph. We had an uptick in wind speed in the afternoon
hours. The peak gust of the day so far is 23mph, which occurred
at 12:05pm this afternoon.
Visibility has been excellent today, holding at around 60-70
miles throughout the day.
The maximum temperature so far today is 55F degrees, which is
2 degrees below the normal high of 57F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 37F degrees, which is 3 degrees below the
normal low of 40F.
