BREEZY AND MILD WITH A BAND OF MODERATE TO HEAVY RAIN PASSING
THROUGH….

A cold frontal system associated with an area of low pressure
moving over upstate New York and northern Vermont has been
pushing through the region this morning into early this
afternoon. A band of showers, which were occasionally moderate
to heavy moved through bringing 0.75″ of rain to Blue Hill
through 1pm.

Temperatures are mild and a bit above normal for the date
with readings reaching the mid 60s for a time. However the
front has pushed through and temperatures have dropped back
into the 50s early this afternoon. It has also been rather
humid today with the dew point also for a time reaching the
mid 60s before scaling back following the frontal passage.

Winds have been busy, especially during the first half of the
day. A south-southeast flow overnight through this morning has
now shifted to the southwest following the front. The average
speed for the day so far is around 18mph. Gusts were frequently
exceeding 30mph during the morning hours with a peak gust of
40mph occurring just before 9am this morning.

Visibility has been limited due to the rain and fog. We started
the day with around 25 miles of visibility, then it dropped to
under 1/2 mile for a time from the mid to late morning hours.
It has improved early this afternoon with up to 60 miles being
seen from the south through west-northwest, but still only
around 25 miles from the north-northwest to east.

The maximum temperature so far today is 64F degrees, which is
4 degrees above the normal high of 60F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 56F degrees, which is 14 degrees above the
normal low of 42F.
