HOT AND HAZY SUNSHINE DOMINATING ONCE AGAIN TODAY….

Sunshine is once again ruling the kingdom as an upper level
ridge remains parked over the region. As has been the case
the last couple of days, high thin cirrus clouds have been
floating by, but are doing nothing to help filter the sun
at all. As mentioned yesterday. we’re stuck in the summer
equivalent of Groundhog’s day with the same weather every day!
Today is day 2 of what now looks to be a 3 day heatwave this
week.

Temperatures have reached the low 90s early this afternoon.
Dew point values have actually decreased a bit from the mid
60s during the morning hours to around 60 by early this
afternoon. This reprieve from the higher humidity is welcomed
considering the air temperature is on the hot side.

The wind has been a little bit more “active” today compared to
yesterday. While the speeds have generally been under 15mph,
they have for the most part been pretty steady. The average
speed for the day so far is around 10mph. The peak gust so far
for the day has reached 20mph, which occurred in the wee hours
of the day just before 12:30am.

Visibility has only been limited to around 20-25 miles today
thanks to hazy conditions.

The maximum temperature so far today is 92F degrees, which is
11 degrees above the normal high of 81F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 68F degrees, which is 5 degrees above the
normal low of 63F.
