AS THE CALENDAR SAYS APRIL, THE WEATHER SAYS FEBRUARY….
The dreary weather pattern continues, except today we seemingly
took a step back to February as a mix of rain, sleet, and snow
has been falling for most of the day to this point. While there
has been no measurable frozen precipitation, it’s still a rather
rude slap in the face considering it was nearly 70F degrees just
3 days ago!
The precipitation that started just before 1am this morning has
amounted to 0.10″ of liquid equivalent through 1pm this afternoon.
As mentioned above, there has only been a trace of the frozen
precipitation types.
Temperatures were actually at the warmest for the day at midnight,
when it was 45F degrees. The mercury gradually dropped to the mid
30s by 6am this morning, and has been stuck there ever since.
Needless to say, it’s not a pleasant day to be outdoors!
Winds have been fairly steady today out of an easterly direction.
The average speed for the day so far is around 9mph. The peak gust
so far is 23mph, which occurred just after 4am.
Visibility has been variable due to the precipitation. The view has
ranged between 10-30 miles through most of the day, but has more
recently dropped to around 3 miles in time for the 1pm observation.
The maximum temperature for today is 45F degrees, which is 7 degrees
below the normal high of 52F. The minimum temperature since midnight
is 35F degrees, which is equal to the normal low of 35F.
