ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME (EST)

FINALLY TURNING MILDER AS THE OVERALL WEATHER PATTERN SHIFTS A BIT….
We started the day with a lot of clouds and some virga, but no precip
ever reached the ground here at Blue Hill despite showing up on radar
for a time. Sunshine increased as we pushed into the late morning hours
with plenty of sun being observed early this afternoon, although
another batch of mid levels clouds have moved in just in time for the
1pm observation filtering the sunshine for the time being.
Temperatures are responding nicely with readings approaching 40F
degrees by early this afternoon. We should finally be able to start
some decent melting of the remaining snow and ice on the ground. Dew
point values have generally been around 20F most of the day.
Winds have been fairly steady through the day, becoming gusty at times
thanks to some mixing from aloft. The average speed for the day so far
is around 12mph. Gusts have been getting to 25-30mph at times, with a
peak gust of 30mph so far for the day, occurring at 11:43am.
Visibility started the day limited by haziness, with only around a 30
mile view. It gradually increased during the morning into early this
afternoon with 50-60 miles of visibility by the 1pm observation.
The maximum temperature for today is 40F degrees, which is 1 degree
above the normal high of 39F. The minimum temperature since midnight
is 25F degrees, which is 4 degrees above the normal low of 21F.
