THE CALM BEFORE YET ANOTHER STORM….
Our active stretch of weather is set to continue with the arrival of
another storm system later today. Out ahead of it, mid and upper level
clouds have increased in coverage, creating overcast conditions by late
morning.
Temperatures remain below normal today, but due to light winds, it
doesn’t feel quite as cold as it did yesterday. We began the morning
in the mid teens and have since warmed into the upper 20s. The dew
point has hovered between the upper single digits and the low teens
all day.
Winds slowed significantly overnight after a gusty day yesterday. Our
average speed is only 6mph, with the past several hours in the 1-3mph range.
The peak gust to this point is only 16mph, occurring just before 2am.
Visibility was limited to 30 miles this morning due to haziness, but
quickly improved to 70 miles thereafter.
The maximum temperature for today is 28F degrees, which is 9 degrees
below the normal high of 37F. The minimum temperature since midnight
is 15F degrees, which is 4 degrees below the normal low of 19F.
