MAINLY CLOUDY SKIES TODAY WITH A COLD BREEZE AND DRY AIR….
A deck of high cirrus clouds have been covering our sky for the
most part today. A little bit of dim sunshine does filter through
at times when the deck thins a bit. Otherwise, dry weather has been
the theme for the day with a chilly westerly breeze making it feel
quite a bit colder than the thermometer would otherwise suggest.
Temperatures started the day in the mid teens and have “recovered”
to near 30F by early this afternoon. This is of course below normal
levels once again for today’s date. Dew point values have been
holding in the low to mid teens all day, indicative of the cold,
near arctic, air mass over the region.
A mainly westerly breeze has been averaging around 9mph for the day
so far. It does get a bit gusty at times with values reaching the
low 20s. This is helping to create wind chill values generally
in the mid to upper teens, even into early this afternoon. The peak
gust so far today is 22mph, which occurred at 12:14pm.
Visibility has been stuck around 40 miles all day with some hazy
conditions being observed today.
The maximum temperature for today is 30F degrees, which is 6 degrees
below the normal high of 36F. The minimum temperature since midnight
is 14F degrees, which is 5 degrees below the normal low of 19F.
