ARCTIC CHILL RETURNS WITH A BRISK WIND, BUT WITH PLENTY OF SUNSHINE….
Sunshine has been abundant today, but it is unfortunately of the
ineffective variety. Yet another arctic air mass has overtaking the
region sending temperatures below normal, which has been a common
theme so far this winter.
Temperatures dropped to the mid teens early this morning, but have
only recovered to the mid 20s by early this afternoon, which is
nearly 10 degrees below the normal values for the date. Dew point
readings have been in the single digits all day, indicative of the
arctic air mass in place.
Winds continue on the blustery side, albeit not as strong as they were
yesterday. A northwest wind has been averaging at around 12mph for the
day so far. The peak gust for the day so far is 32mph which occurred
just after 12:30pm.
Visibility is excellent again today, holding at around 70-80 miles
all day.
The maximum temperature for today is 26F degrees, which is 9 degrees
below the normal high of 35F. The minimum temperature since midnight
is 14F degrees, which is 4 degrees below the normal low of 18F.
