COOLER AND GLOOMY WITH ONSHORE FLOW….

Following thunderstorms yesterday evening, which left us with 0.90″
of rain, conditions have been rather gloomy so far today. We spent
almost the entire morning in the clouds, which have only just begun
to lift. Low clouds still fill the sky as of the 1pm observation.

Temperatures bottomed out last night in the low 60s, and began to
slowly rise, reaching the upper 60s. Then, around 9am, the wind
picked up out of the northeast, causing the temperatures to fall
back into the mid 60s, where they have remained since. The dew point
has followed a similar trend.

Winds were very light to calm through 9am, after which they picked
up a bit. The average for the day is only 5mph. The peak gust to this
point is a bit sad, only 16mph occurring a bit after noon time.

Visibility has been rather poor through the day today, mainly due to
fog and persistent low clouds. So far, this has ranged from 1/16 of a
mile to as much as 10 miles by the afternoon.

The maximum temperature so far today is 69F degrees, which is
9 degrees below the normal high of 78F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 62F, which is 2 degrees above the normal
low of 60F.
