MUCH WARMER TODAY UNDER A MIX OF SUN AND CLOUDS….
We started the day with overcast skies and dense fog. They burned
off fairly quickly, and by mid morning we had a period of mainly
sunny skies. Clouds have increased once again however as the day
time heating has allowed numerous cumulus clouds to develop. Mid
and high level clouds are also advancing into the region from the
west.
Temperatures have warmed quite a bit today with readings reaching
the low 70s early this afternoon. The dew point is also creeping
up nearing the 60F degree mark, so it actually feels a bit humid
out there today.
The wind has been on the light side with an average speed of only
around 8mph. The wind has been gradually veering from the south-
southwest to the west. The peak gust for the day so far is only
15mph, occurring just before 3am.
Visibility was quite limited early this morning with the fog,
but improved nicely to around 60 miles by mid morning. There is
a fair amount of haziness despite the decent visibility, caused
primarily by pollen in the air as well as the increased moisture
content in the air.
The maximum temperature so far today is 72F degrees, which is 8
degrees above the normal high of 64F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 46F degrees, which is 1 degree above the
normal low of 45F.
