MORNING CLOUDS MOVE OUT LEAVING US WITH A SUNNY AND MILD AFTERNOON…
Cloud cover, and even a few scattered rain and snow showers moved
through the region this morning as a warm front pushed through. But
none of the precipitation was observed here at the Hill. The clouds
and showers have since moved out of the area leaving us with a very
nice afternoon.
Temperatures have reached the low 50s early this afternoon as a
well above normal air mass moves in following the warm frontal
passage. The dew point has also risen from the mid-upper 20s early
this morning to the mid 30s by early this afternoon.
The wind has been a bit gusty out of the southwest helping to
usher in the warmer air. The average speed for the day so far
is around 16mph. The peak gust thus far is around 31mph, which
occurred just before 5am this morning.
Visibility has been somewhat limited today thanks in part to
the added moisture in the air (ie higher dew points). The view
has been only around 40-50 miles all day.
The maximum temperature so far today is 50F degrees, which is 11
degrees above the normal high of 39F. The minimum temperature since
midnight is 26F degrees, which is 4 degrees above the normal low
of 22F.
