CLEAR SKIES ONCE AGAIN TODAY WITH A BRISK COLD WIND….

Yet another day with wall to wall sunshine through the early
afternoon hours is definitely helping to continue to raise
spirits after the week plus of cloudy conditions. However,
there is a layer of low clouds well offshore that is gradually
backing in toward the coast as a powerful ocean storm off the
Canadian Maritimes expands westward.

It is cold out there today however, with a stiff north wind and
very low dew point values. Temperatures have reached the upper
30s early this afternoon, which is a bit above normal for this
time of year, but the dew point has plummeted into the single
digits! This level of dry crisp air is adding a decided chill
to the air, especially with the brisk wind blowing.

As mentioned, the wind has been on the gusty side. It’s been
averaging at around 12mph out of the north. The highest gust so
far occurred just before the 10am observation with a value of
29mph. However, frequent gusts of 20-25mph have been the theme
most of the day.

Visibility has been excellent today with a view of around 70 miles.

The maximum temperature so far today is 37F degrees, which is
2 degrees above the normal high of 35F. The minimum temperature
so far since midnight is 22F degrees, which is 4 degrees above
the normal low of 18F.
