DECENT RAINFALL OVERNIGHT, TURNING COOLER AND BREEZY TODAY…
Rain began between 9-10pm last evening and continued until just
after 5am this morning. 0.56″ of rain fell from this quick
hitting event. Temperatures spiked to the low 50s during the
wee hours of the morning, but began to fall immediately after
the frontal passage just after 5am. Readings reached the low
40s by 8am.
Clouds cleared out early giving us a rather nice day today
with sunshine now mixing with some diurnal clouds as we move
through the early afternoon hours. Temperatures have rebounded
back to near 50F. The dew point however has been gradually
settling back into the upper 30s.
The wind has been busy today, with strong gusts overnight as
the low pressure was approaching the region. The peak gust
was 46mph, occurring just after 2am this morning. Frequent
gusts of 20-30mph have been occurring from the late morning
hours into this afternoon. The average speed for the day is
around 17mph to this point.
Visibility has been excellent today with the view generally
between 60-70 miles today.
The maximum temperature so far today is 53F degrees, this is
7 degrees above the normal high of 46F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 43F, this is 13 degrees above the normal low
of 30F.
