This morning started off cool and gusty with clear skies and
plenty of sunshine. As the morning progressed, we had an increase
of clouds move through the area, and by the afternoon we had a
clearing of skies again. However, a layer of smoke entered in
the region this afternoon which heavily impacted our visibility.
Throughout the day temperatures have remained in the 70’s with dew
points in the low 60’s making for more favorable conditions than
over the past couple of days. It has been a great day for a hike,
bike ride, or any other outdoor activity.
Today has been quite breezy with an average of about 14mph with
winds coming from the WNW for most of the day. We had a peak gust
recorded after our last observation just before 2pm EST of about
38 mph.
Visibility started this morning with views of 60 miles and by the
afternoon dropped to 20 miles with the aforementioned smoke layer
that moved into the area.
The temperatures have been rather refreshing today with a high so
far of 80F, which is 1 degree below the normal high of 81F. The
minimum temperature today is 66F, which is 2 degrees below the normal
low of 64F.
