RATHER BRISK WITH OVERCAST SKIES AND COOLING TEMPERATURES…
Clouds have dominated the sky today with 0 minutes of sunshine
being recorded so far today. A brisk onshore wind has also been
the theme today helping to advect a cooler air mass down from
the Gulf of Maine. As a matter of fact, temperatures have been
inching downward all day, with the high for the day occurring
back at midnight, and a low in the upper 30s occurring at
around the 1pm observation.
As mentioned, the wind has been quite busy with east to east-
northeast winds averaging around 13mph for the day so far.
Frequent gusts of 30-35mph were common all morning, but have
since started to wane as we move through the early afternoon
hours. The peak gust for the day thus far is 33mph officially.
Visibility has been decreasing as the day progresses as well,
starting at around 40 miles early this morning, down to around
15 miles early this afternoon.
The high temperature so far today is 45F, which is 7 degrees
below the normal maximum temperature for today of 52F. The low
since midnight is 39F, which is 5 degrees above our normal
minimum temperature of 34F.
