RAIN OVERNIGHT, ANOTHER MILD AND BREEZY DAY TODAY….

We received a pretty decent shot of rainfall yesterday
afternoon and evening with 0.62″ being measured. The
temperature also spiked overnight into the upper 50s as a
warm front crossed the area late in the evening.

A cold front has since passed through the area this morning.
A mix of sun and clouds have been the theme today with a
brisk north-northwest wind blowing. Despite the cold air
advection taking place, at least for now, the temperature
has been able to hold in the upper 40s to around 50. The
dew point on the other hand is decreasing steadily, reaching
the mid 30s by early afternoon, destined for the 20s tonight.

As mentioned the wind has been on the brisk side. So far for
the day the average speed has been around 17mph. Frequent
gusts of 20-30mph have been occurring through the morning
into this afternoon. The peak gust occurred after midnight
with 43mph being recorded. Interestingly, today will be the
4th day in a row with a peak gust of 43mph, rather amazing!

Visibility improved markedly this morning from 40 miles to
80 miles.

The high so far today, set back at midnight, is 54F, which is
8 degrees above the normal maximum of 46F. The low since
midnight is 47F, which is 17 degrees above the normal low
of 30F.
