BLUE HILL METEOROLOGICAL OBSERVATORY
MILTON, MASSACHUSETTS
ELEVATION 635 FEET, 10 MILES SSW OF BOSTON, MA
TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 15, 2022
ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME (EST)
SUNRISE: 0635E
SUNSET: 1622E
PLENTY OF SUNSHINE TO START, BUT CLOUDS INCREASING, STILL CHILLY….
We started the day with clear skies and very cold temperatures.
As a matter of fact we achieved a hard freeze here on the hill
as the temperature was 28F or lower for well over 4 hours. The
morning low was 26F which is the coldest temperature so far this
season.
As we’ve moved into the early afternoon hours, clouds are really
on the increase with mainly high clouds overspreading the area,
however lower mid level clouds can be seen off the south-
southwest through northwest, destined to overspread and thicken
as we approach the evening hours. These clouds are out ahead of
our next weather system thats expected to bring rain overnight
into tomorrow.
So far the temperature has only been able to recover to the low
40s early this afternoon, once again a good 9 degrees or so
below normal.
The wind has been quite light today as high pressure crested
over the region this morning. The average speed so far today is
only around 8mph with a peak gust of only 16mph occurring early
this morning.
Visibility is excellent today hanging out between 70-80 miles.
The high so far today is 41F, which is 9 degrees below the
normal maximum of 50F. The low since midnight is 26F, which is
8 degrees below the normal low of 34F.
