MORNING CLOUDS GIVE WAY TO PLENTY OF SUNSHINE; WARM AND BREEZY….
A line of showers moved through last evening leaving 0.09″ in
the gauge. It’s nice seeing more instances of rainfall this
month, even if amounts are on the smaller side. It all adds up!
Clouds where the theme this morning before finally sliding off
to the east leaving us with plenty of sunshine this afternoon.
Temperatures have responded nicely with readings getting into
the low to mid 70s. The dew point has dropped off this afternoon
making for a very pleasant feeling air. The dew point was in the
upper 50s this morning, but has dropped into the upper 40s this
afternoon, simply delightful!
A nice breeze picked up late this morning into this afternoon as
well, mainly out of a south-southwesterly direction. The average
speed for the day so far is around 11mph with frequent gusts of
25-30mph. The peak gust for the day so far is 33mph occurring
late this morning.
Visibility has been quite decent all day, averaging between
60-70 miles.
While we’re certainly doing better in terms of rainfall than we
were all summer, we are still running a significant deficit for
the year. The annual deficit is at -10.07 inches, despite the
month of September seeing a +0.96″ surplus!
The high so far today is 72F, which is 4 degrees above the
normal maximum of 68F. The low since midnight is 57F, which is
6 degrees above the normal minimum of 51F.
