TEMPERATURES STRUGGLE TO REACH NEAR 60F TODAY
CHILLY ENE BREEZE GUSTING TO 20 TO 25 MPH
SUNSHINE FILTERED THROUGH LAYERS OF HIGH CLOUDS
EARLY MORNING LOWS HELD TO 49F HERE AT SUMMIT
OCTOBER PRECIPITATION STILL SLIGHTLY BELOW NORMAL

A rather chilly ENE breeze and filtered sunshine
is holding our high temperature to just under
60 degrees by late this morning short of the
average maximum of 63F for this date.

Overnight and inland to the southwest through
northwest of Blue Hill low temperatures dipped
into the 30’s in many protected locations. To
the east of the summit overnight lows were held
up to the 50’s with a developing onshore NNE
veering to ENE breeze off the ocean. At our
Hingham station the low was 50F since midnight.

Strong high pressure building southward from its
central position over northwest New England is
sending our sea level pressure into the 30.40’s
with a peak reading of 30.48 (ASOS) at 11:36 A.M.
EDT.

The 0.90 inch of precipitation which fell over the
four days from 4 October to 7 October is still
below normal and by 0.29 inch through the first
8 days of October. This rainfall ended a pro-
longed dry spell.
