DAILY DISCUSSION AND CLIMATE SUMMARY
SATURDAY, APRIL 12, 2014
ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME

FRIDAY WAS FIRST 70 DEGREE DAY OF THE YEAR
ABOVE AVERAGE TEMPERATURES AGAIN TODAY

The temperature reached exactly 70 degrees yesterday, the first time we have
reached that mark this year.  Light rain showers yesterday afternoon, evening,
and last night provided only 0.01 inches of rain.  Temperatures have remained
well on the warm side of normal today.  The morning low was 44F, and so far
the afternoon high is 67F, well above the 54F average.  The air has been very
dry today, with the relative humidity near 25%.  Visibility has been
excellent.  It was 80 miles early this morning, and had dropped a bit to 70
miles by 2PM EDT.  The day started with almost completely clear skies, but
cirrus clouds have been on the increase during the late morning and afternoon,
filtering the Sun this afternoon.  The wind has been steady at 10-15mph from
the NW, which has helped bring in the dry air.
