MORE THAN 4 INCHES
Yesterday’s steady rain petered out after 3:00 PM EST, with
a total of 0.52 inches falling. This created a daily departure
of 0.38 inches above normal, yet the month of August is still
0.70 inches below normal along with an annual deficit of 4.33
inches drier than normal.
Clear skies and an overnight low of 65F have slowly risen into
the 70s by mid morning with small cumulus building. By the 1:00
PM EST observation cumulus had grown and clustered somewhat with
partly sunny conditions. Visibility had increased to 70 miles
with light distant haze and a maximum temperature of 82F was reached.
