CLEAR, WARM CONDITIONS PREVAIL
FOLLOWING YESTERDAY’S RAINFALL
Following yesterday’s rain of 0.27 inches, temperatures
were able to reach a peak of 70F, some 9 degrees warmer
than normal. With a southerly, then westerly flow, a
warmer than normal air mass has remained in place ahead
of a potential first frost/freeze this weekend. Monthly
temperatures are now averaging slightly warmer than
normal at 0.3 degrees above normal per day through yesterday.
Dense cirrus and some virga was visible this morning, and
by the 1:00 PM EST observation virga was visible in all directions
with layers of altocumulus lenticularis and dense cirrus
constantly moving and changing shape. Visibility had improved
to 70 miles in all directions and temperatures may have
well hit their maximum for the day already at 66F.
