DAILY DISCUSSION AND CLIMATE SUMMARY
FRIDAY, JUNE 8, 2018
ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME

BEAUTIFUL SPRINGTIME WEATHER TODAY

The low temperature was a crisp 52F here at Blue Hill this morning, but that
cool start has given way to a very nice spring afternoon. The temperature
has steadily climbed to a high so far of 78F, above our average high of 73F.
The feel outside has been pleasant, with low humidity. Winds have been light,
mostly from the west at around 5-10mph. Plenty of sunshine has been observed,
but a number of cumulus clouds have bubbled up this afternoon. A few of these
have blossomed into light showers to our west, but dry weather has prevailed
so far at the summit. Some higher level clouds have also increased in coverage
this afternoon. Visibility has decreased from 65 miles early this morning to a
hazy 40 miles by the 1PM EST observation.

Yesterday marked our fifth consecutive day of cooler than average
temperatures, the longest such streak since mid-April.  The first week of
June was about three degrees cooler than normal after our unusually warm May.
