ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME
A TRANQUIL DAY ATOP GREAT BOO(!) HILL…
Following yesterday’s record setting snowfall of 6.5 inches,
we have returned the sun and calmer winds to the area. Clear
skies and bright sunshine have been the theme today. Despite
air temperatures reaching the upper-30s (which continues to be
anomalously cold for this time of year) dew points have remained
in the mid-20s allowing shadier spots to retain much of
yesterday’s snowfall. In fact, our snow depth at 1PM was a solid
4 inches. Visibility has been excellent so far today holding right
around 80 miles! Winds have eased from yesterday’s peak of 37 MPH
– only 18 MPH max so far today with an average of about 6 MPH.
While not a new record, today’s low of 24 degrees is good for
3rd lowest minimum temperature in the books for the 31st (records
go back to 1885)! The coldest for this date is 22 degrees set
in 1904…not too far off!
The high so far today is 39F, which is 16 degrees below the
daily normal maximum of 55F. The low since midnight is 24F,
which is 14 degrees below the daily normal minimum of 38F.
